Default I am back from Camp Tuscazoar-DFX Only Hunt!

Camp Tuscazoar was a fun hunt, that the DFX Only Hunt in Dover,Ohio on April 18, 19, 20. It had a lot of hills(mountains) to treasure hunt on.! It was nice weather, on the 18th is was 81° and sunny!
I did pretty good, found a 1935 Buffalo nickel, some Wheaties, a Token from 1933 Worlds Fair(General Motors-Pontiac Chief), some Clad! Ran across a black snake about 3 feet long, sunny in the sun! All finds were in wooded area's, not on grassy campgrounds areas! One hunter found 3 Walers in one hole, another found 4-silver quarters in one hole and another found 2-large cents in one hole!,and the same hunter found another 2- large cents in the same hole 12" away! Amazing! There was so many White's DFX detectors(73), mine was the oldest detector there(6D/B), and a hunter named Bill was a year newer than mine(he had a 6000/D) and did the best) he found a 1879-S Morgan Dollar,(it was like it came from the Mint),a Walker half, a Franklin half and 2 IH's in the same area! You can beat an old White's!

On the 19th, I went to the same location, but a little farther down, the mountain I found old bowie knife, old door knob(very beautiful) have pic's later on the doorknob, found a silver quarter-1957 Washington, some more Wheaties, more Clad, than everybody went to the big Pig Roast- at 1:00pm we ate pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans, coleslaw, and assorment of cake and cookies., after that everybody went out to find more coins, I went to take a nap! Sleep 2 hrs! And then went to find more coins, went behind the camp were I stayed at and found a Merc-1940 and a Wheat! a boy scout pin and Knife. Had to start a fire in woodburner furnace, a little bit colder cause of all the rain that night! I and 5 other fellows stayed in the Cabin named Hoover Cabin(holds 40 people) I had the fire so hot, the other members were sleepy in thier sckeives(underwear)

On the 20th, most hunters left cause of the rain, and some had far drive home, it was misty at first, and cool but the sunny came out later, I did not find to much(no coins), but some boyscout stuff another old bowie knife, old boyscout knife, and a compass on one of the trails! I packed my things up, and went home around 1:00pm. If you want to see some of other treasure hunters finds go to www.dfxonly.com to see some amazing finds! I will post my finds on later date, maybe tonight! So tried out I'm pooped!

It sounds like a lot of fun Mr. 'S'. I've never participated in an organized hunt but that one sounds like it was a hoot.(I generally hunt solo unless I'm training a newbie)

Cheers,

BDA
