Default conquring my fears

Well awile back BDA was talkin of things we fear and I was saying that I had no fear.Well that isent exactly true ! When I was young and dumb I used to ride motorcycles and was a tad bit reckless and nearly died a few times. Untill last night I hadent been on a bike for about 20 years. So this weekend I borrowed my buddys Kawasaki,I think it's a 1000 cc,bigger than anything I've ever rode.I took it out last night and today and had a blast ! Learned a couple of things along the way also...Stay off of wet muddy roads when there is no front fender on your bike and dont leave the switch on while you stop to chat with someone cuz the battery goes dead fast and them thing's is HEAVY ! Well gotta go,Takin er up to the glowworm for a little detectin !

Good for you, Rip! I wish I could do what you have done. I came very near having a serious accident on a dirt bike (pick up truck/barbed wire fence/me) when I was younger and I'm too unsure to conquer my fears. A couple of years ago I took the motorcycle riders course that's given by the state but I just couldn't finish it. I know it's mental and I'd like to get over it; I'm glad you got over it and hope you get yourself a great bike to enjoy the rest of the summer.

Thanks Janiece,Wish I could help ya ! I think you just have to set your mind on it and do it.I've been takin it slow....well most of the time anyhow. Mabey you should start by getting on another dirt bike and find a nice quiet trail through the woods somewere and just putter along till ya feal more comfortable.

You fall off the bike - You get back on the bike. That's how I learned to ride, good for you for getting back on the bike, Mate!

Everybody dies eventually. WHEN death comes, is beyond our control. HOW we face our death is the only thing we can control.

Live Well, Die Proud,

LOL It's okay, Rip. I'm not afraid to get on a bike and love to ride but I guess I think I might've used up my one miracle as an operator. I've been thinking about it a lot lately and I might give it another try. I'm not afraid of dying really, but I don't want to get anyone else hurt. I'm sort of jealous when the rest of my family goes on poker runs and I'm not riding with them and I hate to always have to find someone to ride behind.

Anyway, you get out there and think of me just once when you feel the wind blowing through your hair and that'll be great.
