Hey Pappy,
You sure that was a 1978D? That pic sure looks like a 1973. Enjoyed the contest even though I didn't win.

Default Contest Coin

The CONTEST COIN that was pictured at the end of this contest WAS THE WRONG COIN. The coin we started the contest with was a 1978-D Penny. Please allow me to explain the situation.
I wanted to start the contest as soon as I returned from out of town. When I returned I realized that I had left my Digital Camera out of town and it would take me at least two day's to have it mailed back to me. I asked Greg to supply me with a photo of a contest coin and he supplied me with the photo of the 1978-D penny. When the contest was over, Greg sent me the wrong photo and that is how things got mixed up. Not my fault, Not Greg's fault...Just an honest mistake. The new photograph of the contest coin is shown here with the date and mint mark showing so you can compare the original if you like..Again..CONGRAT'S to Eric for guessing the closest to the date.....I am sorry for any misunderstandings....PAPPY
