Default two more newbie's

what an awsome web site. it has been very useful for my information. my name is Martin. I live in Lousisana near fort polk. i bought a radio shack discover 1100 and got my daughter involved so i bought her a junior detector. we have had a ball looking in our yard. so far we have found about 9 hot wheels a few penny's and some other junk. for now i am impressed for the money i spent on mine and my daughter's detector. i just have a hard time pin pointing an object. i end up finding it but i am also end up with a hole bunch of dirt on the side. any tips would help. i hope to become part of this family and grow to be better at what we do. sometimes my daughter likes to dig when i find something so i let her. well enough about me just can't wait to hear from you all. sounds like everyone respect's everyone and helps out which is great!!!

happy findings
Maritn

WELCOME to the forum Martin this the best forum on the net. I believe that you will enjoy this hobby for years to come and living in Louisiana is a great place for relic hunting and coinshooting because there were several wars fought there and a lot of rich history as well. I wish you good luck in your dig's and i am shure there are some members that will be able to answer your questions. Ask away.

Happy Holidays

Welcome to the TQ forum Martin Happy to have you here and part of the TQ family

As for pinpointing with the discovery it is tricky. Criscross your target and the more you practice the better you'll get. My son uses the discovery and I find it hard pinpointing.

Good luck,

Greg

Yep......You've already made your best find.....and without a detector. Treasurequest is one of the sanest forums for us diggers that I've found. Nice folks here.
