I just wanted to say hello, I have finally found a bunch of people interested in the same hobby as myself. I live in a small town in ontario(CANADA) and I have only seen 3 other people that detect. Just glad to be here.

Welcome to one of the better Treasure Hunting (TH'ing) web sites. You can ask anythig you want, post a picture of something you found but don't know what it is, ask us; we may not know the answer but we will sure give you our thoughts.

What ever you do NEVER throw anything away just because you don't know what it is. Ask us to ID it for you, you would be amazed at what some folks would have tossed out as trash. No such thing as a stupid question. What is your passion, coins or relics? I use to search for only coins and if I happened to find a relic so much the better. I now am more of a relic hunter, searching for Civil War artifacts here in Virginia. I did a little TH'ing in Toronto back in 2002, I searched a school yard and can truthfully say I found three $2 coins in a single day; here is the US most TH'ers would think Gold coins, until you tell them 'Canadian'. It was still a lot of fun. Would rather have found a few 'Fish Scales' (Canadian 5 Cents), but maybe on my next trip up North. Do you belong to a Treasure Hunting club? If you have one near you join it and see what others are finding and where. You will need to see if someone will give you ideas and thoughts of how and where to search, etc.
