Default Hello from Modesto

Hello to All,
I decided to join, after The Crow, did a link to this forum.Got the link from ghost town forums. http:forums.ghosttowns.com/
I looked it over a smidge.I liked what I saw.Just jumped in with both feet.
Seems like,I do a little bit of everything, master of none. Except when it comes to reloading. And a lifer of the NAHC. yeah,I'm one that really likes the 45 Colt,454 Casull, and the 44 mag.
The 4570 is what i shoot (45-70Govt)
I do goldpan.A lifer of the United Prospectors Inc.
Currently,I'm in re-training,since our cannery was permanently close October 30th last year. I was a mechanic specialist for the peach pitters and re-pitters.Did quite a bit of TIG welding on stainless steel.
Will try to be here.Have college for 6 days-a-week to the end of this month.(re-training) Sorta "retired" for now.
Close by to several ghost towns, and semi-ghost towns.
Found out in our travels, most of who I talk to, want us to move to Arizona. I'm planning to escape this state in a few years.
I have a Bounty Hunter, with still less than 24 hours on it.Bought it at M.Ward in the mid 1980's.
Yes, i do have questions ! Would like to get out, and do some treasure hunting. For this,I'll have to wait-and-see for employment.Gotta have some $$$ for supplies and gas to go on.
So, thank you.I'll start doing some reading.

Thank you to all. Appreciate your welcomes.
Was reading about the Nevada lost mines and loot that hasn't been located.Very good info.Kept my attention glued to the monitor.
A lot lost that needs to be found.
I was going to ask about a treasure story from a book.It was in Washington,CA up near Nevada City, not far from Hwy 49.And the other highway that splits from Hwy 49.
The name of the story is "Hobo Camp Gold"by W.C.Jameson.
The book, is "Buried Treasures of California".
Was trying to find some info on the "Overland Express", a train robbery,
that happened October 11,1894.
Of the info I got, there wasn't a spur from the main tracks into,or past Washington from Sacramento.
I'm just wondering,if this much info from the book, could be misleading.
Most of the areas up around Grass Valley/Nevada City are hard rock areas.
My suspicions are, this robbery may have happened further south, where the always present main line tracks are, pretty close by to Auburn. And almost parallels present day I-80. Could I be close or way off ?
Well, thank you again.Very interesting forum !

Thank you PABill,
Sometimes it takes mindwork, before footwork. Can save a lot of steps.
Will see about employment.Hope it won't be with Gallo Wine.
Yep, another cannery bit the dust.....us. Seems like those are getting fewer and fewer.Take another direction. Go with the flow.
Would like to get out right now.Been really nice the last couple of days.
But, we're supposed to have more rain comming.
I should get a letter of recommendation from Atlas Pacific Engineering Co.
It's the machines I've worked on for over 14 years.Know several of their mechanics, and 2 high-ups.In 2005, I made 5 tools for one rep from Chile,to take back with him.
Think I might kick back today. This electrician course is a . A lot more to it than I first thought.Should do OK.40 years of electronics, and over 22 years of computer sure helps.
Will see ya later !
