Default Delaware area metal detecting group

Hello all. We have a group of detectorists in the north Delaware area that communicate via email and have recently started to hunt together. I've started a Yahoo eGroup for this group to communicate and posts pics. This is not an organized club...just a group of enthusiasts.

If you live in Delaware or surrounding areas feel free to join and participate.

Welcome Brian and thank you for the link, I might want to ask you some questions about the type of ground conditions you have in Delaware. Also what seems to be the prevalent brand of metal detector in use for these conditions? Ok God Bless and glad to have you. Take care Brian.

Hello John. We have many types of ground conditions here in Delaware. I, myself, use a White's M6 and a Prizm V. The Prizm V is better suited to noisy areas due to electric lines.

Our group of 5 hunters use a variety of metal detectors. I use mainly White's. Others use Minelabs, Garrett, and Fisher.

Best,
Brian

Hello Brian, Ok thank you for the info and I am going to try and do this research on ground conditions and the metal detectors used in the conditions. Free to Detect gave me this idea and I think it will be a good subject. It might take me awhile since I have to go to my fulltime job and run John's Detectors. But Freee to Detect comes up with a lot of stuff. Thanks again Brian and God Bless from us at John's Detectors.

Hi John,

Delaware has many diverse ground conditions and nothern Delaware is probably the most diverse. We not only have a plethora of decomposing iron, with a good dose of mineralized soils and so called hotrocks then add in an abundance of modern trash . When you include all the EMI problems that amplify the ground conditions they add up to problems deciding which detector and coil combination to use because it's difficult to determine which condition is the biggest problem.

Some private areas are relatively easy to hunt when we can isolate specific problems but in general this is a very difficult area to hunt in my opinion especially when you know many good targets are there but masked due to such adverse conditions. I personally look for any minuscule advantage to isolate those targets and haven't figured out what combination is overall best but realize it's a work in progress and enjoy the game HH Bill

Talking Looks like you have it narrowed down to.....

Every possible problem that there could be, but I like your stick-to-it'ness and attitude.

Hi Bill, thanks for your input and I didn't know it was that bad. I am very fortunate not to have those problems here Bill. But I have to really look to find a place to hunt that might be productive. I hope the 4" coil is helping you out. I am trying out the Tesoro Cortes now. I just started with it but it seems to be a good detector so far. Ok Bill I will chat to you again soon and again thank you for sharing the info with us. God Bless my friend.
