My detector is coufused!?!?!?!

Spent my first full day with the Ace 150. When I cross a coin there is no doubt that its a coin, but when I cross anything else I get every tone the thing has. Is this true with the high end models? I am already dreaming of moving up, and am hoping to avoid this somewhat with a nicer model. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Haven't used any Garretts but I would not give up on it so soon . I'm sure you'll get some feedback on this as there seems to be alot of Green Machine users here. Even if you upgrade there will be a learning curve. Sometimes it can be something really simple. So whatever you do just remember that every detectorist has a Two-Box detector ie. One control box on the detector shaft & One right there on your shoulders. Once you get them both in Sync ( NO MATTER WHAT YOUR USING ) you'll be good to go & be making some nice finds. Read your Manual, ask questions & practice, practice, practice. Just my 2 cents worth.

Hey Arkwater, in reading your post I was wondering if you are testing your machine by placing items on your floor in your house to do a sort of "bench test" Forgive me if this is not the case, but if it is, that may be your problem. If you place items on your floor, there will be all kinds of interference from wires and pipes running underneath. If this is not the case, try bringing down the sensitivity a bit, until it stops sounding like Las Vegas during a long weekend.

I sure hope this helps some. I know how frustrating it is, when you expect to be able to just run out there and find stuff and can't.
