Default Marble Detector?

Today I was digging a signal and the only thing I found in the hole was a teeny tiny marble. I ran my machine over the hole and over he spoil dirt after I took the marble out and didn't get any further signals. Is there something in the old glass that gives off a signal in the soil or was there something there that I didn't find?

Oh, and just as a side note, the marble is bigger than a BB but smaller than a pea. I am happy to have found it. Especially since I have some old jars full of marbles but none that small.

Default hi ,oregon

some times a piece of iron that has totaly desenagrated will give off a sig. and when you dig the sig you disturb the ground and break the halo afect and the sig is gone. my opinion. its not the glass marble.happy hunting

Thanks, goldstinger! I was totally baffled because I'd swear there wasn't anything left in the spoil dirt or the hole and the marble itself didn't set off a signal after it was dug. Your theory makes a lot of sense to me. However it happened, I'm happy to have found the little marble.
