Default Digging tools

i know the good folx on this forum are as devoted to their digging tools as they are their brand of machines. here is my question. Are there any differances between lesche tools and predator tools? if so which of the two is better? here in this part of SC we have a lot of sand. lots lots and lots of sand. for the most part i use a cheap plastic shovel from kids toy box. but the lawns are mostly centipede grass with a root system designed by the devil himself. when cutting a plug i have been known to brreak out a hatchet to cut a plug. the drywall/keyhole saw has worked 2. but i want a good tool that will cut and dig. any help you good folx can give will be greatly apreciated.

THANX A MILLION

Hi Bill...

Check this digging tool out...Got it at Wall Mart for around 10 bucks an change...its at the Garden Center and is made by Fiskars...Its a darn good rugged tool and well worth the moola...The blade is grooved on one side, and is 7 inches long...Serrated edge on one side, blade on the other...split at the end for cutting through roots I would imagine, soft rubber handle with a square hole for hanging it up...Hope this helps ya out some...

I bought the "Fiskars Garden Knife" last year and it is one tough digging tool. The only thing i had to do was (because the cushioned handle came off) was use JB Weld to re-attatch the handle and it was as good as new & it is warranted for life by fiskars!

I also bought the Fiskars trowel and really like it. The handle of mine seems to be a bit loose, too, and may have to glue it back on. The only thing I wonder about is if the tip wasn't forked, if I would have better digging abilities. Sometimes it seems like I just can't dig any deeper than 5 or 6 inches.

Well mine works fine, and I put it through the mill yesterday, with the ground being kind of dry and the rocks...Pris have you found anything deeper than 5 or 6 inches yet?....

I tell you what, I had a hole about 12 inches down the other day and found a penny on the side of the hole about 8 or 9 inches into the hole. That Ace250 sure can find stuff pretty deep. I was there for a while, though, for a silly penny.

I have been using the same tool and it works great. Cuts nice plugs and is tough. Give one a try.
