Default I have a choice: Prizm II, Ace 250, Silver uMax/silver sabre???

I need to buy a new detector and I am choosing between these three models. If you have any comments like lag time on any of the detectors, I would appreciate knowing that kind of information before I make a purchase. I would like your full oppinions and any comments you have to which one that you would suggest getting. Thanks.

Yes the Tesoro Silver uMax is a very good instrument. It has a great recovery speed and is featherlite so you can hunt all day. The lifetime warranty is unbeatable. The search coil is waterproof and operating the unit is easy as pie. Don't let the small electronics pod bother you because this instrument is not a toy. A single 9 volt battery will give you hours of enjoyment. The sensitivity control is a very useful feature and adjusts the gain of the amplifier in the receive circuitry. The all-metal mode provides accurate pinpointing for the user too. I hope this is useful info for you and I wish you the best in your selection of an instrument!

I agree with Chuck & John - go with the Tesoro Silver uMax. Great machine, great company. The Xterra 30 that was mentioned by a couple members here didn't do the job for me. Might of been the factory set ground balance but sent it back after using it for a couple of days. Had the dealer check it out and is was not defective. Kind of strange because all the other detectors I had over the years worked well & they were factory set ground balance. Steve...

All the Tesoro's are great detectors and I think the Silver a a good one also. However, May I suggest the Fisher F4 or 1236X2. Both are excellent detectors and the F4 has a lot going for it with the two diferent coils that comes with it. You can switch to any kind of hunting with it.
Give ma a call and we can talk about it more.
