Red face Bounty Hunter Prospector or Ace 250?

What are the pros and cons to each of them? What are the differences in detecting and depth and all that fun stuff? Theres 100 dollar difference in price so much help is needed. Thanks...

From what I have learned here in the short time I have been here the Ace 250 wins this one. I think it is worth every cent based on the results I have seen posted here. Just my opinion.

Default bought the bounty hunter.

Went and bought the bounty hunter, everyone seems to believe its an excellent beginners tool. I found my 1st pile of crap thing out of the ground. It was made of copper I think, a part of something....hope I find some cool stuff soon.

I personally have the Ace 250 and love it.. but I think whichever machine you choose will work best for you. Just get a lot of practice and learn to speak your machines language.

I'm sure you'll be diggin' good stuff real soon.

What Turnerscc said, Learn your machine & keep practicing. I know there are ALOT of 250 users here but I think your BH. will do you fine starting out. I have a couple of the Pioneers & the Fast trackers for the youngans around here and they do pretty good. Just learn what the detector is saying and take your time. You'll do fine and you can always upgrade later.

Good Luck & HH.

this thing picks up lots of things...found a penny, dime, and pull tab all in 20 minutes....I'm just having a hard time digging...and probing....the dime was on the surface so that was cake. The penny was 3 inches down or some, can anyone help with the probing and digging aspect?

What are you using to dig with and do you have a pinpointer ? Some times even with a good digging tool if the ground is as hard as concrete cuz of no rain it can be a real challenge or Here in The Mountains where I'm at the ground is alot of Coal, Iron & Rock wich can make ya wanna . A GOOD diggin tool is a Plus and a Good Pinpointer can cut your time digging down. How are you doing at Pinpointing with your detector ?

im ok at pin pointing, just not digging lol. I have just a regular garden shovel, whatever there called. I use a screw driver as a probe. Im looking at getting a drywall knife or something to use to get down deeper.

When we get together to hunt tomorrow - I'll show you how I dig and probe - and also let you use my vibraprobe pin pointer...I guarantee once you use it - you'll want to get one...saves time and excess digging and worth every penny... Chuck (Treaure Hut) is in Centennial..he sells these and is also a great source for MD questions...
