Default Special Headphones

I'm brand new so don't know much. Do I need special headphones or will my Bose noise canceling HP's work?

As long as they can plug in they should be great. JC

Default Bose Headsets

Hey Flyer Dog

I've use Bose headsets, and the active noise cancelling feature works awesome in a noisy environment, like in an airplane and such. While metal detecting, depending on the area, I would like to hear some of the ambient noises around me, like critters gettin close, and people coming up behind me. I just don't like surprises. I think they call it "situational awareness". I have a couple of David Clark types and they keep things quiet too, but out and about by myself I would rather use the smaller sponge types to only direct the beeps and boops to my ears rather than cancel out a generally quiet hobby. Just an opinion.

Thanks
Leo

I would say they will work, they would probably need a 1/4" phono plug to go into the detector or you could by a 1/8" -1/4" adapter at somewhere like Radio Shack.

My wife is a speech therapist and she uses headphones that have inline volume controls for each ear on the headset. They look similar to the bigger type noise canceling headphones(or my police shooter hearing protectors). They're great for my CZ5 because I can set the dial to the power boost on my machine to pick up the faint beeps, yet still lower the volume on my headphones for a more comfortable volume to suit me. She hasn't asked for the headphones back so as they say, possession is 9/10ths of the law!
