I have never used the Quick Silver. Someone will know and give you their opinion.
I believe you would be better off to be patient and save for the 250. All you need is about $80 more to get the 250. I know it is hard to wait, but I think it would be worthwhile. Good luck with whatever decision you make. Earl

For sure the Ace is the weapon of choice here on Treasure Quest. There is nothing but good things said about this machine..I too would wait to get one. There are so many in use that it is a proven machine...Buster...

I am in agreement with the rest of the posts. Please save your money and purchase the Ace250. It will be in your best interest. Think about it this way, if you purchase the Quick Silver now and wish you had purchased the Ace250 later, you will have to start off from scratch saving your money all over again. Not to mention you can always resell your detector, but the resale value may not be so great on the Quick Silver as it is on the Ace250. I own both the Ace250 as well as a 1200.00 unit. If my Ace would stop working today, I would purchase another one quickly because I know how great of a machine it is, even though I own a machine that costs so much more.
Well, with whatever detector you decide to purchase, I am sure you will find lots of great things with it. You will always find lots of help here at Treasure Quest with all of the great members.

Dylan clad coins tend to be after 1964. That was the last yeat that the silver coins had all silver in them. As to the pennie as of after 1982 they started puttinf Zink in them. Thes tend to corrode very fast undr ground, and are pretty worthless.
I keep all my wheat pennies and any pre 64 silver. The rest of the clad you can bank roll to another mashine, or other. Good luck to you and I hope you do well, Beale. Oh and Dylan get your self a Planters buddy from Lowes and good tool. If you do not hat a lowe clode. Go to a military surpluss stoer oand see what they have, Beale.

I cannot tell you anything concerning the RR that used to be by your uncles. I am sure there are many others here who can give their input on this. As for your digging tool, a garden spade is good to use, however be expected for the handles to eventually break off during continuous use. I haven't found that the more expensive garden spades work any better than than the lower priced ones - they all seem to break sooner or later. Just start out the hobby with garden spades and eventually you can advance to other diggers that are made for metal detecting.
