Default wierd find / any surveyors

I couldn't stand it I had to take the F75 for a spin today..it was killing me..lol
I went to a local spot today this spot is a 1800 ish public park with an old water wheel flour mill
I got permision to hunt from parks and recs as long as I stayed at least 200' or more away from the gin mill house..Its all historical so i only hunted the kiddie sand box.and just outside of it...But I wanted to relic hunt so I started Knowing that lots of goodies are around this whole place..I was getting hits 14" to 16" deep all under the kiddie play ground and didn't have the digging tools to get to it..So I start walking away from the sand box and Get a good rusted Iron tone..I dig down 6" and find a OLD RUSTED almost into LOGGING CHAIN welded to something like a stob and I tug and dig 12" all around the stob and its like its connected to something deep like 20" deep or more..It didn't look like a corner marker any I have ever seen and its kinda in the middle of a field near a creek ..I wanted to dig it up But didn't want to dig up a property marker. It had a 3' big logging chain welded..I cant wait to go back....Im guessing its more modern But not sure when logging chain was invented..anyone have any ideas..

Could have been used to theft-proof something. The old wrought iron benches around our park used to be welded to a chain set in concrete. Just a thought.

All the property markers I ever saw were sucker rod hammered into the ground and they may have a washer welded to the top of them.
