I do agree with Buster on the XLT being an excellent detector for all but the shoreline in my opinion and have the Eagle Spectrum and XLT but feel the Sov GT would be more versatile jumping from wet salt sand to the dry stuff and works great on inland sites also. They are both top notch detectors as is the X Terra 70.

I noticed you weren't interested in the MXT or M6 but can assure you the M6 is a real nice detector with great coil choices.Good Luck with your choice and whatever you decide just learn it and practice, practice, practice and if you have any questions just ask. HH Bill

Hey shawnp..I just got the fisher F75 about 2 months ago..It is said to be one of the fastest recovery machine built and likes to swing fast and has 3 coil options..yes the F70 coil will be availible soon.I have the 11" DD and the small 6" good trash coil.. it can be chattery due to it is soooo sensitive..some say to sensitive..But once you learn its a hot rod that dont need to be run at full throttle the chatter is non existant..quick and easy ground balance has a fast grab function dual switch push to fast grab pull in switch to pinpoint..spot on I might say..Easy function change and freq change from 1-7..I started out with the F75 and wanted a machine I could learn and grow into and will be keeping it for many years to come..theres gobs of reviews..f75.com is a good one, Its a great Relic hunter and gold, silver coin shooter..I have read good things on all the above detectors mentioned so its a hard decision..bda and the others have way more experiance than me..Just wanted to give you some insight on the F75......james

Thanks James great info. I love the recovery and swing speed of the F4 so I think the F75 would be right up my ally

Well I went ahead and got the DFX.

I think I surprised myself and my wife when I decided on it. I had called Tony at TC metal detectors like 10x Saturday with questions..

I was pretty set on the F75, but I just could not pull the trigger.

I still have a dirty plan in my head to get an F75 down the road maybe used.

I will let you guys know how it goes when I get it and have a chance to hunt with it.
