I have found lots of coins in my yard in Florida...I think 8 to 10 wheats...I can't remember...When I can't go far, I will pull out the XLT and hunt my yard...Still looking for silver here in Florida, but that will come...While up in Dover Delaware living on base I used to hunt my yard all the time too...Found rings, buttons, badges, all kinds of older coins and a religious metal in my neighbors yard...Yard hunts are good...Have never let me down yet...Buster...

The one place you can take all the time in the world is your home and wonder how many hunt their own home with the same intensity as some other sites.
We've had our house for 23 years and during WW2 they raised chickens and sold eggs to the community and only recently hunted it seriously and found 2 Mercs,a few Rosie's,an IH under an old Oak, about 6 to 8 wheats and some neat trinkets and a 1927 dog tax tag and still have a long way to go and it's only 3/4 of an acre lot now.
It's amazing how much Junk the old folks buried in their yards as i've found at least 10 spigots, door stops, window latches light bulb bases, some lipstick tubes and princess compacts along with lots of iron junk etc. Man it's FUN .HH Bill

Man I am really impressed by that. Truthfully I have done my driveway and found a few things I know we dropped over the last few years. We have 27 acres and I know this was originally part of a military land tract but I have never ever gone out into the back and checked it out. Always read in every MD book about doing your yard but I really never thought people did it unless they lived in an area of historic value. Maybe I better get my butt in the field this year.

Your Dog has great Teeth

An "IH" is an Indian Head penny and a "Rosie" is usually a term for Roosevelt Silver dimes minted 1946 -1964

Default sure do

the main place iv'e been learning my detector is my yard. occasionally i will get out to the tot-lots or a ballfield and make better finds when i get the time which these days is kinda sparse! but i like the convenience of the yard... even though i've found mostly only every type of trash imaginable. but every time i dig a target i get that exciting feeling that says it could be something nice and try to pay attention to what my machine is saying over every target. a children's ring and steel heart medallion and 75cents in clad are the best i've managed so far , plus some shell casings.
