Creek, Pris and Shawn had said something about it a few weeks back...I would check there back posts or I am sure they will say something about it..If I remember I think they said that they put the tools in the checked baggage and hand carried the machine through the inspectors..They said that they told them what it was and showed them...Hope this helps some....Buster...

I have a carry case, But you could make your own with a small suit case, Purchase some foam, dissasemble your machine and cut foam to fit pieces in the suit case and carry on the plane with you. Have a wonderful trip I hope you find lots on Cocoa,

I bought a large rolling duffle that I can pack it in with my clothes -- so far, no problems. I think I'd like to have a nice foam-padded hard-sided case, but have not yet found one.

I just got back from Az. I bought a hard case for mine and asked the airline to put a fragile sticker on it. everything went well. I also think a hard case golf cub case would work.

Default Carrying the Detector

Everyone seems to have some good ideas. I have a suggestion that may help. A gun case works pretty well also. There are several different sizes since there are several different guns to go in them. Just a suggestion. They seem to work pretty well. I will be in Cocoa beach as well in June. Good luck. Keep us posted on your finds. I am curious to see if I will find anything.
Cheers
Kevin

Hey Creek. I bought a pelican gun case for my long hauls.. You have to take the time to mark and cut out all that you want to put in there but it fits most of my stuff and 1 detector real nice.. It also has wheels on one end and its lockable as well. Just make sure if you get one you get TSA locks. Good luck bro

Default packing for airport

I use a hard-sided golf bag with wheels. It has foam on the inside to keep it from jostling around. I also inform the TSA of whats in it before I check the bag in.

My scoop and my straight shaft are both travel versions so they break down quickly and easily. The pieces go in the middle of my clothes in my regular suitcase so I don't have to worry about my Excal getting damaged. I've not had a problem on trips to Mexico and the States but the Excal is built like a tank and will take a lot of kicking around in the surf and at the airport.

Cheers,
