Default Xterra 70 vs Explorer SE

Have done quite a bit of research and have almost decided on an Xterra 70 with the 9" standard coil, the 10" 7.5 kHz DD coil and the 5"X10" 18.75kHz DD coil. The investment amount from Kellyco will be about $950.00 and the deal includes the carrying case, headphones, digging knife, etc.

My question regards the single frequency issue of the Xterra 70 versus the 28 frequency approach used by the Explorer SE. Will I miss anything specific by going with the Xterra vs. the Explorer?

The price difference would be in the range of $500.00-$600.00 between the two systems, all things considered.

This will be a hobby for me in the Midwest, but it could become something that I get fairly deep into. Intend to do general searching for coins, artifacts, jewelry, etc., and at some point possibly gold nuggets.

Thank you very much for your input.

Hi John,
I use the XT70 and Mike uses the Explorer11, there isn't a lot of difference, sensitivity is the same, maybe a bit more depth on the EX but not a lot.
Mike was amazed how my machine was against his and over here in the UK a lot of Explorer users are changing to the XT70.
Hope that helps.
