Default Opinions on the White's Classic 5id?

I have made posts in the past asking opinions about high end detectors since I thought I was gonna have the cash. The way things are going lately Im not gonna have the cash i thought to spend on an MD. Im feeling the crunch as a lot of people are beginning to feel. I saw the Whites 5id and thought it was at a reasonable price. As whites is the name i would like to go with. As a total beginner like my self is it a good MD to go with? Especially for the price. I would like to hear some of your views from you wonderful people here at TQ.

Hey BigMike,

Well the Classic 5ID is made for Kellyco by White's, and in all honesty, people *love* it. I'm not a sales person, I work on the various websites that Kellyco has, so I see reviews and customer comments that come through online and I can tell people really like that machine.

Here's the page for it: White's Classic 5-ID Metal Detector - Kellyco Metal Detectors - You can "read reviews" on it if you want, there's only two but they're both favorable. It's a great machine for the money, and it has a 2 year warranty. For a first timer, it will probably keep you busy for at least that long. Good luck! And don't hesitate to ask about any other machine if you have questions!

So far I've found one very old license plate, a lot of nails, some funky green pennies and other misc. change.. but who's counting? I'm just here to have fun!

Mike, any of the whites machines are good, I've used the classic II SL for a year, had very good results, then used an idx pro, had target id, was really good, then I got an mxt, it does real well. The 5 ID would be a good one to start with, Kellyco is the place !! Rich.

I have 2 White's machines and I love them both! (Prizm III and DFX) I don't think you'll go wrong - and like Ali said it will keep ya huntin' until you decide to upgrade down the road...Happy Hunting!

I used the classic 5 id for a couple years. It's a great machine. I stepped up a couple years ago to a DFX but kept my trusty Classic id as a back up.
