Question MDing for us tall people.

I was over at a buddys house and he let me try out his bounty hunter around his yard. It was extended all the way out and i was still hunched over. I'm 6ft.4in tall and my back was killing me after an hour. I never really thought about this before and I haven't bought a MD yet. Had some other issues that came up money wise. What detectors would have extenders or strech out long enough for us tall people. I want to be comfortable when I start my new hobby and not be in pain.

Hey Mike.....I'm 6'4" myself....I use an M6 and it seems to be pretty comfortable....I would recommend going to a couple different dealers and try a few out, after I decided which one I wanted I would consider contacting some of the sponsers on TQ....They have some good prices....I hope you find what ya need....

The Minelab X-Terra I have is good for me. I actually have one more hole left to move up. I am 6'3" and have no problems with it. Now my Tesoro seems to be a bit shy in the length department. With that detector though it is so light does not effect me to much, Beale.

All Minelab machines have good length to them, but it might be advisable to speak to the sponsers on TQ and if possible go along to a dealer so you can get the feel of it.

Man I feel like the shorty here, 6'0”

If you find a detector with a straight shaft it'll usually be allot longer than a curved shaft. My Ace is just a little short for me, works OK but I don't like the coil that close to my feet, the Sov. Has a straight shaft with a couple of holes left over, the curved shaft has the same issue the Ace does.
