Default Cortes and CW Relics

I have a new Tesoro cortes.. I am MD in the Disc mode. I am detecting an area where Civil war buttons an bullets have been dug. I am getting [Iron Foil] readings constantly around the property... I dig Everything!!! Mostly nails, horseshoe style, horseshoe, alot of old nails, trash, bolts and a few 12ga shell brass. My question is should I disc out the iron and foil setting? Does anyone know at which setting any of the buttons or bullets would register on the cortes? I am still learning my cortes, but I want to get the most out of it,,, as we all do.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Hoos, if you dig everything you can't miss anything if you disc out foil then you will loose some good stuff.
Try listening to the signals and remember what they sound like in time you will get to know when it is foil.
Each item has it's own tone although at the moment you will be thinking they all sound the same.
Good Luck.

I have a different MD, but CW bullets come up as zinc pennies for me and buttons come up as nickels, I have had one bounce from nickel to quarter. The cortez has a numeric targed ID display (right?), try to find some sample items to determine the target id number range. Could just be a lot of iron in the way masking the good stuff. Clear a 10X10 area of all iron, then go over it again real slow looking for the deep stuff.

My 2 cents....HH
