Default Question about headphones for MDing

It's been a while since I posted here. But I thought I could get some input from users here.

I want a good pair of phones for my Deleon. It appears that Ratphones and Grey Ghost are in the range I want to spend. I can't find any dealers that have Ratphones in stock (must be good). I lean towards the Ratphones. Any input is appreciated.

Dan

Hey Dan the maker of the Ratphones has put them on hold right now. His home page says he is "reworking" them.

I have and really like a pair of Sunray Pro Gold phones. Very well made and really pick up the soft sounds. I like that they fit my big ole noggin and are comfortable to wear all day.

SUN RAY PRO* HEADPHONES

Now that being said I really think any of the high end metal detector headphones will work well. Try to find a dealer if you can and try some on. Also give our sponsors a call to see what they can do to help you out, Beale.

Hey Dan, I got a pair of Ratphones from Rick that has the Soveriegn GT Modification on them. I really like them, but the only thing I wished they had is a volume control. They can be used with any machine that has a volume control. Using them with a Ace 250 is really hard on the ears, real loud.
Maybe the new ones will have a Volume control on them.

Earl

Thanks for the reply. Understood about the upgrade to the phones. The ones I saw did have separate volume controls. And the way you change from the 2 to 3 input plug was by reversing the cord rather than a small switch, allowing the change needed from Garrett, Minelab to Tesoro, Fisher, etc.

I will look at the Sunrays though. I heard someone say the Troys were good also. Like you guys said, probably can't go wrong with either of the higher end line, but anything is better than these I got free back when I bought the detector.
