Default My wife wants a light detector

Anyone know of a super light detector? We have a White XLT, she finds it to heavy to swing for long.

Default Detector pro pirate

Has anyone used a Detector Pro Pirate? It has the electronics in the headset, we are wondering if it is light, and how well it works. The overall wt is more than an Ace 250.

I was going to say the 250, also Tesoro makes some nice light ones and there's also the Troy Shadow series which are really light as well. Good luck.

i only have experience with the 250...but it's so light!! when i got mine i knew it would be light but it still suprised me! the coil cover i got just recently made it feel a bit heavier...and it's only plastic!

The White's Prizm series is light and are very good machines...the Prizm III is a good "middle-of-the-road" machine...I used one for a couple of years until buying my DFX this past spring. HH!

I will also say the Tesoro brand. The Compadre can be bought new for around $150.00 and is super easy to use. It is 2.2 lbs. No display. If she wants a display and money is tight the Ace 250 has a big following. It is light also. Good luck to you, Beale.

I would get with our sponsers and see if there is a way to hip mount your XLT or get a detector that is a hip mount ste up..That will make it feather light...I hip mounted my Whites PI and I can swing that thing in the water all day...Buster....
