Default Planted Metal Detecting events.

I need information on how to set up a treasure hunt for a family reunion event. What methods are used to plant coins and organize the event. Maybe there are some sources available to describe how to do this.

Thanks in advance.

Great idea for a reunion. There is a book you can get from KellyCo which outlines setting up competition hunts and seeding. You can set up your hunting area in a grid and try to evenly space the coins out so everyone who participates can find some coins. Depending who the soil is you may be able to push the coins in the soil. Good luck.

Laim Idea here! For the little kids, just put some goodies in the plastic eggs you can obtain at the dollars stores. For the older folks just hide $1.00 bills in the trees and or bushes.

Fold them into 1/2 inch squares and put the in like flowers and in the crotch of branches.??

If they are using Detectors, Wrap $1.00 in aluminum foil and Bary deep!

Sounds like it could get a few more people into detecting.
You can also plant some pull tabs.

Great Idea Titan Man ! Super way to promote the hobby and let everyone have some fun. Don't know if everyone will have a detector but if not ya can always give everyone so much time ( say like 15 Min. or so )to hunt then let the next one have at it. Just a thought. Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

For the little kids a few hand fulls of clad and a couple of bales of straw spread out and you got a hunt for kids. Thing is parents tend to toss their pocket change into the pile as well.
