Default eBay?

As many of you know, I am just getting back into detecting, and I am looking to purchase an Ace 250.

I am looking for the most cost effective way to purchase one, and I was wondering about eBay. I have seen used ones on there that are in good condition, which tend to sell for less than market.

Could someone advise as to whether this is a good idea, or not?

Or should I just go out and buy one from a dealer?

Chris

I would be a bit leary buying used electronics on EBAY. The Ace 250 sell brand new for just over $200.00 In my opinion you should check with the sponsors of this site. I know Kellyco has them with lots of extras for $212.00. Good luck

Ha! Ask, and you shall receive! I guess I will be staying away from eBay then. I will look around the site to locate one of the sponsors. I am still a little unfamiliar with how things work here.

Thanks!!

Just my opinion - but a new 250 is so reasonably priced - that I wouldn't risk an unknown machine from an unknown seller for a few bucks (or even 50 bucks) off the retail price. If that meant I had to wait a couple of extra weeks to save the extra cash - it would be worth it to me. Again, just my opinion.

Hey there - Kellyco has a pre-owned section that sometimes has 250's - but they go fast! I just checked and we don't have any on there right now, not sure what your time frame is, but maybe one will pop up?

You can always call one of our sales people and see what their best price could be... ya never know... - Goodluck!

So far I've found one very old license plate, a lot of nails, some funky green pennies and other misc. change.. but who's counting? I'm just here to have fun, giggle, and make friends along the way!

I have to agree with the others. Buying from Ebay is buying blind, you dont know if the machine was abused ,dropped, submersed in water or what. Also its likely there wont be a warranty with it. Kellyco has reasonably priced machines and from what I hear from others on this forum , they are very good at repair and warranty work. I would hold out and wait till you can afford a new one. I know that when my cookie jar of clad is full I'll be calling the great folks at Kellyco for my next detector. G-girl

What everyone else said... Don't do the E-Bay thing.
Go with a dealer so you are protected if ya have a problem.
