Default not sure how your detector works..

but on most you pass the coil over the target and dead center of your coil were the sound is loudest should be your target. Try passing a coin under the coil and see what happens.

Default Pinpointing

Tape a coin on peace of large cardboard but not in the center. Toss it a like a Frisbee so that you don't know where the coin is. If you have help, have them place the coin. Then practice your pinpointing.

Hope this helps!

Make an X with your detector over the object and the center of the X is where most of the time your object should be. Hope this helps!

Practice is a good idea. The more you do anything , the better you'll get at it. Unfortunately your detector is in the low end of detectors. The pinpointing to begin with is not as good as most others. If your ground is high in mineral content then you will also have a tougher time. If the signal is loud , lift the coil up a couple inches , this may help.
Good Luck.

I would make a small practice garden in an off corner of the yard or something.Make sure area is clear of all other signals ,then use different objects(silver, gold, copper, junk iron,alum.,etc.) buried at different depths. You can stick a toothpick or small dowels at a few of the targets to mark where they are located, check to see where you start getting a signal on it as opposed to where it is actually buried using the markers as a guide tool.Practice will help and you should get the hang of it before too long.I use a B.H.Lonestar as a backup detector now,but it was my primary for a couple of years.I found enough with it to eventually upgrade so don't give up.

remember your coil sends out a egg shaped signal into the ground. If the head is tilted to the ground your signal is also tilted.

You want the coil to be flat, parallel to the ground.

I use the x method. But when you are starting out carry a plastic poker chip with you. Make your first X sweep on where you think the item is. and put down the chip on the center of the x. Now move around to the right side of you x and do it again. If the spot is the same you are good to dig. If not move your plastic chip and step to the right again until you have the exact spot of your "find". Then dig up your pop tab.

This will help you learn how your coil reads without lots of big holes.

Good luck.
