Hello all, Need some info on detecting in Greece...

I'm going to Greece April 9th to the 18th, and want to detect the beach at the resort I'm staying at. It is on the isle of creete. Does anyone know what the treasurehunting / metaldetecting regulations are in Greece? I got 1 reply on another forum that said he had detected a few beaches while on a cruse througt Greece. Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. I have detected in England and reported all pertinant items found to the coroners office as perscribed in the treasure act. and am willing to do the same in Greece.

I don't have first hand knowledge but my former supervisor was stationed in Greece with the US Air Force and he was telling me that they do not allow any TH'ing in Greece. I do not know if they allow searching on the beaches or not but you may try contacting the Embassy and see if they can provide any information. I wish you all the best on your search just make sure you know the law before you go. It may be a very expensive leason to learn otherwise.
