Now why didn't i think of that. Thanks for getting back to me. Seriously i am looking to find some virgin gold. Saw a program where people were finding small nuggets with their machines and it looked legit and fun to go there. I am new to this and am still learning the minelabs machine i have. I am trying also to find out what the new laws are in florida on beach hunting. I don't want to lose my machine b4 it earns its keep. Thanks for getting back to me Coindetector. |

If you want to find gold- you need a detector specifically made to find gold. Coin detectors simply won't do. Depending on how much you have to spend- $400.00 for a used Fisher Gold Bug 2 to a new Minelab GP3500 for around $3500.00.
If you want to hunt just for a couple days- perhaps you can find someone to rent you one. I wouldn't buy one if you don't live out west. B-JB |

For Florida laws go to City Hall and ask and also call the Parks and Recreation Dept for your city some cities require permits. More jewelry is lost in the shallow water so a good waterproof detector, preferably a Pulse Induction Type would be needed. If you use your Minelab You can venture out into very shallow water and wrap up the detector so it doesn't get any surfspray on it. On the land part of the beach, make sure your discrimination can at least pick up a nickel and then dig all corresponding targets. If you discriminate out the pulltabs you will lose most of the gold rings and jewelry. Hope this helps.... Joe
