I have been hitting the lower part of our farm for about 2 weeks. There is a house, still standing, on this part of the farm that has been nearly constantly inhabited since the 1860s.
The Ace 250 has given me a reasonable amount of finds plus a few Wheaties. The finds thus far seem to be ca. 1935-1950 at about 3 to 4 inches. Obviously, people started dropping things well before 1935. How do I get my Ace to show me the silver that must be below the level that I am finding? I tried this evening to discriminate out all but silver and set the sensitivity almost to max. All I got was a wildly bouncing pointer that would lock steadily on nothing. One would think a good coin target would lock at least in the silver coin range. There is enough trash to make "dig everything" a lifetime commitment.. Any advice on how to divide and conquer this acreage..... Am I expecting too much from my Ace? Still very much a newbie, HJ |
