Default Headphones?

I notice the Ace 250 has a nice sound to it and besides conserving battery power what other benefits do headphones have?

Default Headphones

I have an ACE250 and the tones stay factory balanced at all times. The tones are quite loud. I use a set of headphones with adjustable ear pieces that allow you to (tune down the tones) and tune out the outside noise. They allow you to hear deeper tones also. THEY are GREAT when the wind is blowing or traffic is heavy in an area or there are lot's of folks around playing and having a good time. It would be a GREAT investment to make to go with your TH'ing tools...PAPPY

Question

Hey Pappy, I'm getting an ACE 250 and would be interested to know what kind of headphones you use. Would like to tune out as much outside noise as possible. Thanks, Suzy

Default Headphones

SUZY, I don't really know the make of my headphones. I've had them for a Great long time and the lables are long worn off the set. I intend to purchase a new set of DUAL VOLUME KILLER B'S. VERY SOON. They adjust on either side and are Great for people who are hard of hearing on one side or both...AND for those with Great hearing.
I have Always used some type of Headphones with my detectors to keep the outside noise away and to hear those really deep signals. Those really deep coins come in very faint and you need to block out the outside noise to get to them....PAPPY

Pappy, thanks for your reply. I think I’ll make a trip to radioshack and see what they got.

Default Pappy

Thanks for the info. One more question, are headphones specific to the model of detector or can they be used on almost any of them?

Try to match the OHM requirements of each detector.
Buying headphones is like buying MEAT, you get what you pay for.
Do you want hamburger tonite or Rib Eye !!!!

I picked up some headphones from radioshack and they are real nice I think I spent about 20.00 for them. It has a nice volume control and I was very surprised how quit things are with them on. I did need to pick up a ¼” jack adaptor.

I like my whites headphones, they have volume adjustments on both sides, and I find more when I have them on. (the small beeps that you wouldn't notice without headphones you can now find easily).

Especially when searching in an area where you have cleared it out of all the big stuff. Turn your discrimination down and listen for those really deep targets.
