Default Finally found a RING!!! actually 2 rings, great fun last night!

I have a Whites classic ID. I really like it and usually find stuff every time I search. But, I have never found a ring.

We were at church on Sunday and the youth pastor mentioned that he had lost his wedding band while doing a slip and slide with the youth group, he couldn't find it and asked if anyone had a metal detector.

I contacted him and we went searching last night. It was a pretty trashy area, and I was glad that I scanned my ring first so that I would know what to look for.

I got lots of signals, and each time the detector beeped he practically ran over to me with the shovel ready to dig.

Each time I told him it wasn't his ring.

After about 5 minutes of searching I hit a strong signal and it matched up with my rings scan. He asked me what it was and I told him his ring. I pointed to the ground where he would find it and he picked it up.

then he hugged me (shudder).

It was fun but I wanted to look some more.

There is an old community center really close to my house. I've been wanting to search there but never had the time. It is older and the playground has lots of the older style things that would be deemed dangerous today.

I started with the swings. First signal it told me was a quarter, I dug it up and sure enough it was. Next signal said it was a penny, and it was correct again. I found four quarters, three times and two pennies next to the swings. (1964 was the oldest I found)

I then went over to the spinning thing (I don't know the name of it) you run around and make it spin and jump on.

I found a couple of quarters and dimes and then got a big hit like the ring I found earlier.

I dug it up and found a mens ring shaped like a horseshoe with diamonds on the horseshoe, and a horse in the middle.

It was really cool. I am sure it is worthless, but I was thrilled to finally find a ring, and my kids have been wearing it around since.
