Default Hello Tiger4life.....

......you are right, there aren't many differences between the machines, but the differences are significant.

The ACE 250 has a few more features than the 150 such as, 12 segment target ID (the 150 has a 5 segment target ID), the 250 can learn to accepth or reject certain targets with a notch filter (the 150 cannot), the 250 has 8 sensitivity adjustment levels (the 150 has 4) the 250 has a more precise battery power indicator, the 250 has three levels of tone ID (the 150 has two), and the 250 has an electronic pin point mode (the 150 does not).

I don't know about you, but for the $70.00 difference, is it worth having those extra features?

Treasure Hut has both machines in stock at a discount. When you are ready, I would be honored to count you and your Son among the list of satisfied Treasure Hut customers!

I have to agree with Chuck. If you were to get the 150, I'm sure your son would be happy with it, but soon he will "out-grow" it and want the additional features that the 250 offer. If it is within your budget, I would get the 250, it is well worth the exta $$.

Default hey tiger

I would have to agree, a few more bucks and he will grow up one with the machine....then again you might be thinking the boy is going to out do you... just kidding, but he will over time learn that MD and won't need to upgrade...he needs to learn to take care of it though and learn and watch you...to of you in the same park... the park won't be the same....

I also would get the 250 UNLESS you think that this is just a passing fancy for your son. Then I would go to Walmart and buy a really cheap one. If you get the 250 you can always trade it toward a different model or you can use it as a back up to your 250.

You can not go wrong with the 250. It is a great little machine for the money.
