Default detectors advice

I have a bounty hunter ss11. My question is will my detector go deep enough to find old coins. I know the town I live in has been detected 20 or 30 years ago by alot of people ( my father-in-law told me). The town i live in has alot of nice older parks and i know they couldnt of found everything. So far all i'm getting is clad (not to complain)but i sure would like to find some older coins.

I had an inexpensive bounty hunter and i count find silver coins down to about 6". If you have old parks hunt them. Try and hunt areas you dont think might have been attractive to other people like along bushes, roads, and curbs. You are correct... no one can get it all and winters tend to push old coins up. Ive found a lot of old coins for 3 to 6". In that range where most detectors might find them. Good luck.
