Giant hat pin.
Trying my detector for the first time today, my first target was rather large and wanting to know how large, I went to the shop and picked up a 10" length of stainless rod. Sticking that rod in the ground hurt my hand like the blazes, so after using it for a while, I went back to the shop and welded a screw on the end to screw this machine knob onto. Now I have this huge hat pin to probe the ground and/or mark the spot of the signal so I don't lose it while setting my MD down to pick up digging instruments.

I really like that! Yup, you were meant to be a THer (treasure hunter). Lots of people on this site also have made their own tools. Great job

Very nice tool!Some people just use a golf T .You have me thinking Why not design an all in one tool?It can mark your spot and dig it for you too!
