Default A Tip For Ace250 Users With Sniper Coils

You may already know of this method if not I would like to pass it along.

I have been metal detecting for about 51 years now and have used all different types of metal detectors and I think that the ACE250 is probably one of the best all around detectors that I have used.

Ever try to detect under old proches, basements, cellars, under brush and all those hard to get to places only to find that it's extremly hard to get your detector under there and have enough room to work?

Next time...take the coil off ( Especially if you are using the Sniper coil) and take the housing off the shaft. Now you have a protable unit you can take with you under the house or wherever. The housing is very very durable and can take a licking and keep on ticking. You can hold your housing in one had and scan with the other. You may want to make sure you have a dust/rain cover on your housing as this will keep the dirt out.

Give it a try and I think you will enjoy it especially when you start finding those older coins and trinkets.:reindeer:

Thumbs up Great tip!

Pappy - thanks for the tip it's absolutely brilliant! I had never looked at how easy it is to get the electronics off the shaft.

Default Another Tip For Everyone

This is another little thing that I personally do with my detector. Put one of those little crystal moisture packets in your battery compartment and in your detector carrying case to keep out the moisture. Putting a moisture pack in with your batteries does not affect the performance nor hurt the batteries.

I have a huge wraparound porch with an enclosed underside(hasnt always been enclosed-house built in 1906) I cant wait to give this a try-its freezing here in Chicago-but underneath the porch its gotta be dry and loose dirt/no wind-I will update as soon as i check the space out. Thanks pappy for always sharing!!!
