Default Minelab Explorer Programe by Tony hunt.in UK

Display ...Smart Quickstart.
audio Vol .....10
Gain........8
Vari.....10
Limits......10
Sounds..... ferrous
Response......normal
DEEP ..ON/ FAST...OFF
Discrim....
IRON MASK ....-10
Few tips.
Always Keep the Coil to the soil, and Take it steady. Why be in a rush to miss the Deep ones. take no notice of the Flutey twittery Noises the EXP makes JUST dig the GOOD TWO WAY SIGNALS . Check your Metal content by flicking to Digital, Look for a Higher `Conduct` readout over ferrous.then press Iron Mask to see where the Curser is on getting a good signal, if the curser does not apper on the screen when you hear the target noise,in IronMask its likely its IRON. click the `back` button to retrieve Smart screen or Digital screen.

Default Goldmaxx

Yes Smudger they are VERY good machines ,i`ve had one.I found it a very sensitive machine to Hammered but i found too much Coke with mine. I tried all ways to discrim it out but failed. BUT there are those that say they can discrim it out. I also found it not liking pasture much either. The Goldmaxx excelled on Loose soil with a high mineralization, and was a good tool. BUT i personally Like the Explorer 2 better, and this is just my personal choice. But the Goldmaxx is a very good contender for the difficult soil. the best Hunting method appears to be Hunt in all metal, then on hitting a target ,switch to discrim, to check it out.

Default Relics

Well its Ok for finding relics Greg ,no probs there, but i would Put your Iron mask on -14 or even -15 to find the sort of relics you want to find, also up your gain to 10 . you will however start to find More Ferrous items at -14 and -15 because you are almost accepting Everything metal , but the plus side is you will increase your depth more. If you start to find lots of Junk stay at that Iron mask but change your DEEP /ON FAST/ OFF ... to DEEP/OFF FAST/ON. To increase your Recovery speed , So it doesn`t null out on the Junk so long. And increase your sweep speed slightly. Also use Audio 1.If Trashy ground.
To put your Detector in all metal. put Iron Mask on -16 so you get a complete Clear screen and work in , for all metal.
Do you work in advanced mode ,Greg?

Hi Jeb,

Thank you kindly for the advice. Yes I detect in advanced mode.
The place Where I plan on hunting would be a Civil War skirmish site so there would be no junk finds! Just all keepers!

Default Did i get the Quattro?

Yes i sure Did get the new quattro Greg. What a beaut this new quattro is. So Simple to use and yet so effective. this quattro is that easy to use my grandson who`s only 12 could use it. but it still can do the Buisness on the field. All you do is press the power button. ,then press the noise cancel button. Select out of Coin, coin/Jewelry, relic, or All METAL Mode, and away you go . You then are actualy in Auto Sensetivity But i select Manual Sensetivity and Adjust the sensetivity myself to the ground i`m working. Its so Simple . Another Cracking and easy switch on and Go Machine with the Depth of the Explorer. You cannot Go wrong here, because Minelab have on this machine incorporated a Better Idiot proof Pinpoint Graph, that when you press pinpoint about six Bars dance up and down untill your precisely over the Target, and when you are, ALL the bars in the Graph, are filled to Maximum hieght. So you cannot Fail to Pinpoint right on top of your Target. The Signal recovery is faster with the Quattro than the EXP too. hope to get out more now the weather is getting better .
