A couple of good ideas, when I find a coin that's covered in dirt I can't stand to wait til I get home to see what it is, I have to know now so I just spit on it & semi-clean it to see what it is, I can't stand the suspense, thanks for the idea.

I bought a bunch of small zip-lock bags and I carry a few 2" x 2" with me for those special finds, but I'm like 'E', I usually try to see what I got when I get it.

Here's a real good tip for those who "can't wait"

This tip actually belongs to my hunting partner, Echostar61 (Terri), so the credit goes to her. She carries a small tub of "baby wipes" with her. I've been handed more than one of them by her to clean-off a coin, token, ring, or any number of other items recovered. They work extremely well in removing dirt & mud.

Thanks Terri!

I know that nearly everyone who partakes in a little firewater now and then has seen - and probably owns - those neat purple cloth bags that holds the Crown Royal bottles...but sometimes you can find the very small (sample) bottles - and they have a very small purple bag as well...(about big enough to hold an aspirin bottle)...I use these to protect the good stuff in the field...the drawstring keeps everything safe...
