Tip for finding clad

Personally I don't mind diggng clad (lol, though 1/2 eaten Zincolns get "old") since it adds-up for battery money.....

Anywho, I was thinking earlier about an old fairgrounds I'd hunted. On one corner of the grounds was a payphone. Tnhe payphone wasn't the booth-type, it just stands out in the open, on a pole which goes into about a 4'square concrete slab that's surrounded by grass.

I was detecting in the general area & swung the coil over towards the front edge of the slab........long story short, I ended up setting on the slab using my pinpointer and picked-up over $2.00 in change, mostly dimes.

So don't overlook payphones, pop machines, or any other similar "machine" that accepts money. Cause like the old saying goes......."It's all gravy baby"

Hey there - have you seen any of my posts on easement hunting here in downtown Austin? Just about every time I go, I hunt for 5 or 6 hours, and I come back with 3-400 coins (a lot of pennies, but yes, they do add up!).

I've sometimes spent 15-20 minutes sometimes literally sitting on the ground in front of the meters picking out the coins... I don't have a small coil, so I know I'm missing some coins and it is harder to pinpoint them when they're so close together, but I've figured out how to make it easier until I get that little coil...

And, since most of this easement is in the older part of downtown - most of what I hit are what used to be neighborhoods that are now law offices and such - I have even found a few pieces of silver (one was a 1911 Barber dime).

So, if you have grass strips with parking meters on them where you live, by all means, hit em!

I'm new to this but it seems like anywhere that a person would have a reason to put their hands in their pockets is where the coins will fall.Its all about gravity!I'll have to keep an eye out for old gravel parking lots.You give great advice artist!
