Default coin cleaning tip

today i did an experiment. i took a denture cleaning tablet (the ones that look and fizz like alcaseltzer) and put it in a cup with an old dirty wheat penny and some water. i let it sit for two hours and when i took it out it shined like new. i recammend putting a paper clip or something under the penny to allow the water to get on both sides.

Good Tip Rob. Did it make it shine like new or just clean the crud off? I have used soldering flux, just coat the penny and put very light heat to it, shines like new. But would also destroy any value it had. HH Ken
