Question Best Digging tools

Hello,
I am new to TQ and have learned alot of great stuff already. I am curious as to what everyone uses for digging. Right now I am just using a regular shovel as I am just getting started. I have a viper trident metal detector. Thanks for all the advice and help.

Hi and welcome to TQ! I use a couple different.. I use a Lesche hand digger dont know the model and I use a Lesche Predator Hercules 88...

Both are very robust and easy to use.. Good luck on your choices.

Well we have a member on the site that makes a digger. I have one on order. I am looking foward to it. Look for alabamaslim.

I also use a nice digger from this site.

Welcome to Predator Tools Online!

I use there model 88, and really like it. I think as you progress in the hobby you decide how and with what you like to dig. Good luck to you on finding one, Beale.

I use a Lesche digging tool and a small cheap-o shove I bought at Menards. The shovel works ok but I know it isn't gonna last; the shaft will probably snap before long. There are some good one-piece shoves designed specifically for MD work. They're pricey but worth it.

paradiseyellow;

There isn't necessarily a "best" digging tool. There is what each of us find and utilize (from around the house)/ make/ or buy. As for me, I had read about the Ames brand "Planters Buddy" from a fellow TQ'er. What I liked was a few things. Price, bought it at Lowe's for under $15. The base of it is rather large, so if you have to put some weight into it, you can and it has a lifetime warranty. Good luck with your decision.

I have a $45 Lesche digging tool and a $15 Wilcox 12" trowel, and i prefer the Wilcox over the Lesche...(Dont get me wrong, i think the Lesche is a excellent tool)
I have no idea why i like the Wilcox one better...

I use a Gator digger with the serrated edges...Got that a few years back from K Co...I am thinking real hard about the hardware that Alabamaslim is making..they look really heavy duty....Buster....

I've got a bunch of diggers, but always use my colt dagger.
It feels good in my hand, LOL.
