well im not sure im in the right spot but i'll soon figure it out!!!lol i started metal detecting with my dad when i was young. we lived in dallas and my dad and uncle would hunt the old churches, schools,ets...in the area. i would go into the neiborhood and get permission to hunt the privite houses! i was rarely turned down i was young and i guess people liked to see kids doing something good that has been 25 plus years ago and i aint a kid nomore lol today im a tattoo artist and i look the part thats makes it a little harder to get permission without scaring people.lol so heres my tip get a kid interested in our hobby they can get into the "good" spots and open doors for us!!!! it good all around first your getting a kid interested in something great instead of the bad influnces of today, the kid will remember you forever, and people will see you are involved with helping kids do something healthfull, possitive and good. and who knows where that kid will take you to find you next prized find!!!!i wish i was 13 again thankz and happy hunting to all

Hey there Ink. Never thought I'd come across another tattoo artist/treasure hunter. I've been tattoing since 1988. Apprenticed under Adam West and mentored under Tony Olivas (of Stone Mountain, Ga) at Dixieland Tattoos (RIP) in Panama City Beach, Florida during my last couple years in the Air Force. Now have an all custom shop in Charleston, WV.
I can relate to your post. Good thing about having a lot of tats; it keeps curious onlookers from interupting my hunt (except kids, who aren't easily intimidated). I like to give the coolest kid's a wheatie, or even a Mercury dime if they don't bother me too much. Happy hunting. |
