Snellville Georgia Area
Hi All...I will be in the Snellville, Georgia area the weekend of July 19, 2008. I would like to know if anyone can suggest areas where I might be able to Metal Detect, or anyplace to pan for gold? I am interexted in "real" gold-panning, and NOT a place where gold is "planted" in a bucket. Can anyone help me with this?

I used to live in Gainesville...just north of Atlanta...you might try the Lake Lanier area (between Gainesville and Atlanta...it was NOT posted as no Md'ing when I lived there and LOTS of people hit the beach and swim areas in the summer...good luck!

Dahlonega Ga..anywhere in that area,,,or you could go to the recreational panning site.located in or around allatoona lake,,,this area is opentothe public for panning only nothing else,, dredges ect,,,,,thats probly the closest unless you find a national forest office they allow panning,,,no fee
