Default a tip i learned the hard way

this may sound dirty but this is a method i use when hunting houses. most homeowners don't under stand how we retrieve our finds they only see us digging up there lawn! i always return the groound the way i found it, i use the "trap door" method make sure the dirt is back below the grass, and leave no signs that i just dug a hole. to get to the point i search away from the house so i am between my hole and a homeowner if possible. some times i'll even pass up a target if i feel i'm being watched.i'm not saying we should be sneaky but as soon as the homeowner sees you "digging"up there yard, alot of them freak and they send you away! even if you show them how you fill the hole back in. one case of this is i was hunting a house in dallas, i had gotten permission from the lady of the house i turned and within the first five feet i dug up my only silver dollar a 1900 morgan! i dont think it was the digging that disturbed her i believe it was the fact i dug up a silver dollar and she was scarred her husband would get mad at her for letting me hunt her yard!!!i dont mind showing my finds and even sharing them with the homeowners, but you gotta find the finds first!

You would think the homeowner would want someone to find it instead of it just laying in the ground for umpteen more years. Its not like they are going to run out and buy a metal detector. Its also good to have a pull tab in your pocket when they come out and ask what you just found. This is good when you are in the park as well, to keep all the kids from bugging you.
