Default Vibratory Cleaner

I know these work great with rifles casing s and stuff so I thought why not get one and see what it will do on coins. By that I mean more modern coins or those that are so worn out, they have little numismatic value.

I've got the polishing media and about to try some coins monday, just copper cents form the 70's and 80's to experiment with.

Anyone know how much good this thing will do or not?
It holds about 6 quarts of material and is real well built, heavy -duty motor with sealed ball bearings, etc. I've got $300 in this idea so I hope to have some real shiny coins! ha ha

Thought it might work well on old rings, etc. if I find any.

Hi Digger

The Vibrating tumblers work pretty good, if your media is to course it will grind anything you put in it copper is by all accounts pretty soft metal, just as brass is for the shell casings, I used walnut shell for those !! silver rings and such are even softer, just be careful the first few times to fing out about how long it takes to clean without removing to much metal.

I have a vibrating tumbler. It holds 4 lbs in each barrrel. I use aquarium gravel in it and for me it works rather well. It is a lot-o-tumbler. I am trying to find pure S.S. shot about the size of a bb to use with my clad, and solid brass or copper for the pennies. It does seem to take longer than a rotating type but in my opinion I think it does a better job.
