Default These are the Original.....

.....Lesche Tools, made by the factory that "George" used to work for, before he married Mr. Lesche's "daughter", and decided to leave and copy the tools!

I have a problem with "Predator" because that's just what George was.....the way he started his business. I prefer to stock the original. Just my opinion, but thought you all should know the history behind the "tools".

I wish I had a picture of my tool but I bought mine at Lowe's. It looks like an little larger Leshe digging tool..chromed with one edge that is serrated. Rubber handle...cost me $7.00. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Start in the garden section of your local store.

I just bought a (Link Removed) from a local Mding dealer and wow it is a great tool. I like the way it cuts the cleanest U shaped flap in the sod. when I have the hole open I us an other type of digger to scoop out the dirt. Don't get me wrong, the Lesche Digger is by far the best I have used so far... It is a little flat for scooping the dirt out of the hole. But there are no roots or rocks that it can't get by. Some of you may think carrying two diggers is a pain but it works good for me.

being new at this I have spent considerable time learning to use a Lesche and have found it to be an excellent tool ... I've tried but haven't had any luck using an 8" screwdriver .... the best bit of advise I was given about digging is to take your time ... coins can really be hard to see ... I've found several in the pile of dirt that I've scooped out of the hole that I didn't see until I went back through the pile

No matter what kind of digger you use, I would humbly suggest also carrying a good quality pair of pruning shears. When you get into roots you will find it is a nice tool to have in your pouch

I also bought the fiskars digging tool at Walmart. Think it cost me about $10. I have not had a chance to use it yet because the ground is still frozen but it looks really solid to me.

Default Fiskars

I have been using the fiskars trowell from WalMart as well. It's a pretty good tool. I don't have anything to hold it up against, except a cheapo plastic trowel that came with my MD. I use the plastic one to help dig in the sand and the fiskars works really well if there are a bunch of roots. The forked tongue really does scratch a coin, though, so be careful.
