Default Locating good MD sights.

I'm taking my MD on a business trip to Tucson and thought about doing some research before my trip. Well google's map site http://maps.google.com/ turned out to be quite the tour guide. select a town, zoom down to about the 5th step from the top and use the Hybrid button on the top left of the picture.
You get a great satellite view with an overlay of streets/parks/ buildings and points of interest.
Made it very easy to generate a nice list of parks to explore.

You should also check out google earth. It is pretty similar but offers the convenience of a downloadable app. If you are a geocacher (www.geocaching.com) then you can even view geocaches that are in the area. Since a lot of geocaches tend to be in fairly historic sites, this can be a nice way to generate good search locations as well. What you can't really see in the thubmail is that it also offers "3D" views of things like mountains and even buildings in some major cities. I circled two spots on the screenshot. One is the gradeschool I went to. The other is the house that my grandma lived in.
