Smile Going to Myrtle beach w/ my bounty tracker IV, advice, tips? ty:)

Hi i will be going to myrtle beach this summer and and am a very new to metal detecting. I just bought a Bounty Hunter Tracker IV and am slowly learning how to use it. I have only been out a handful of times but have managed to find about $2.00 in change already.. any tips or advice on metal detecting on a saltwater beach especially pertaining to my metal detector would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for all your help and advice.

Default Hope you do good.

I went to the beach about 3 weeks ago and me and friend got over 6 dollars in change during a week there. He had a bounty hunter and it worked great on dry sand. It was sand so we just dug almost every target the only prob we both had was wet sand, got a lot of false signals. He turned down his sensitivity and then it was fine. We also got a like 5 pairs of sunglasses and one piece of junk jewery.

Default Beach Hunting

I used to live at the beach and there are MANY great places to hunt out on the beach. Be absolutely sure that you check around the life guard stands after they have left for the afternoon. Found many rings and jewlery around those stands. At low tide, check as close to the water as you possibly can for items lost by swimmers during the day. If there has been washouts on the beach check them very carefully and they tend to hold rings, watches etc.also. Check the spots where the tourist place their blankets to sun on the beach. If you see any cig. packs lying on the beach be sure to check them also as I have found as much as $50.00 in one before...MOST OF ALL...HAVE FUN and be safe....PAPPY

Chances are you won't be able to hunt the wet salt sand or water with the tracker since it isn't very good under those conditions. However , the dry sand should be fine. I would be curious to see how it does perform in the wet areas there though. Please let us know. Thanks .

Default Using The Tracker 1v

This detector has two tones one for nickels and pulltabs and a higher tone for coins. This detector can be adjusted so pulltabs give a broken sound which will make them easy to identify. Nickels will still be a low tone and a high tone for the other coins. Also lower the sensitivity in wet salt sand. Hope this helps........
