Default Sneak One In

PAPPY is gonna sneak one in here for the ACE250 users.
I have found that the instrument works a lot better and harder if you search with the coil approx. 1" above the ground instead of right on the ground....At least it does for me....PAPPY

After you locate your target, then place the coil on the ground to pinpoint it.

hey pappy i also found with keeping the coil up you also can increase your sensitivity, with the ground around here except for the beach you can put it all the way up.

Thanks for the tip. I just received my Ace 250 today. This evening I found three of my yard survey markers, two pieces of wire, one nail, and a couple pieces of rusted unidentifiable junk all in my yard.

Thanks Pappy! Is is correct for me to say that it sounds like a pinpointer may not matter very much when using this method?

Default tips

I own several Garrett products one being the GTI 2500. The manual in all of them advises to keep the coil above the ground unless pinpointing. With the 2500 I keep the coil about 3" above the ground and seem to have better results, especially on wet saltwater sandy beaches. Monty
