Truthfully if the area is predonimately desert, you could find some fairly easily if you knew what to look for, and had your detector set to a mode that can distinguish ferrous materials very well. i wouldn't be surprised if you found a space rock or three...

Just found this forum! I live in Arizona,Mohave county,close to Gold basin,and according to research and Youtube videos they find many meteorites in this area.I may have to run my MXT over to the Goldbasin and see what I can find.May stumble across a gold nugget while I'm there..

Homefire,I wish you could too..Not many out MD,ing here,they tend to sit in the closet this time of year.I still do a little park stuff in the evening though.This winter I'll be hot and heavy at it!
